Despite the heat- seek what keeps your art alive! Music? Writing? Painting?? Award winning author Julia Cameron in The Sound of Paper: Starting from Scratch reminds us, "Those who provoke us into art do so by their interest and enthusiasm. They are curious about life. They themselves have not given up on life. They are interested in mysteries--interested the mystery of what we have to say. In a word, muses find us amusing." Seek those who encourage your projects.
If you are having trouble pursuing that spark-- remember the kind look or words from the friend, aunt, teacher- who is truly interested in your art. My aunt is always remarking that my sweet uncle would be so happy to see me painting!
Nurture your pursuits!! -- as we water (sparingly in the drought) the small plants in the yard that give us joy - and fill the birdbath!
